They were mobile missile launchers but I added some gun turrets made from plastic tubing.Ī Wolverine emerges from the doors of a factory to engage an attacking Tarantula. They are joined by two "generic" vehicles converted from some Megaforce die-cast toys. Typhoon Urban Assault Vehicles rumble down a city highway. ![]() The hangars were made by cutting the bottom part of a water bottle in halves and painting them. Typhoon Urban Assault vehicles leave their protective hangars to defend the city. The barbed wire is vinyl window screen and the obstacles are plastic I-beams glued together. Once cured, I added additional layers in the same way. I used the dull edge of a knife to separate the line into pillows as the spackle began to set. The sandbags are made of spackle in a syringe and pooped out in a long line. But these measures are useless against a long-legged 'mech like the Tarantula. Laser-equipped infantry take shelter behind a barricade of sandbags, barbed wire, and anti-tank obstacles. The windows are grids printed onto overhead transparencies with a laser printer and then glued in place. The factory is made of mattboard and equipped with battery-powered LED christmas lights. The nearest grey building is plastic packaging. The chemical storage tanks are hairspray caps. The metal warehouses are "Nutter-Butter" plastic cookie trays. Most of the buildings are built from scrap mattboard. Most of my Battletech urban scenery on green felt. Once the spackle was dry, they were given a black wash and drybrushed with white. The rubble is broken plaster chunks and plastic I-beams stuck into globs of spackle to hold them in place. The urban camoflage of these mechs blends perfectly against rubble. The Phoenix Hawk LAM miniature came from an old IBM game Cresent Hawks Revenge and has a little emblem in raised-relief on one wing.Ī Shadow Hawk, Hunchback, Guillotine, and Wolverine with urban camo for city assaults. Normally a 25-ton 'mech and a land-air 'mech don't serve in the same unit as a couple of 100-ton assault 'mechs. These mechs were put in a lance solely because they are too big or oddly-shaped to fit in the case with the rest of the miniatures.
